Playboy Card Special Editions

These cards were issued in various ways, through one or more distribution methods, and the distribution methods may have changed over time. Paradigm has purchased or used old stock from Sports Time distributors for some of their special offers, for example, see the Jenny McCarthy set descriptions.

    Playboy Catalog Autograph Premiums
  • Chromium Binder set premiums Two sets of Centerfold Collectors cards, offered exclusively to purchasers of Chromium Collectors Card Editions 1 and 2 through Playboy Catalog. The Chromium 1 premium consisted of Ellen Michaels (March '72), Lisa Sohm (April '77), and Julie Peterson ( February '87) The Chromium 2 premium was Lynda Rhys Vaughn (April '82), Donna Speir (March '84), and Nancy Harwood(February '68)
  • Pam (Anderson) Lee autograph. A signed Best of Pam card offered in early 1998 with binder set purchases. Limited Quantities but no edition size given.
  • Monthly Autograph sets offered through Sports Time Collectors Club and to dealers, this is where the extra autographs went. These are sets of matching number autographs from each of the monthly editions Sports Time released. The practice was discontinued when Paradigm began releasing cards, although a broken Premium set would have matching numbers if it was offered. Cards were offered slabbed and sealed in full sets only; later individual autographs could be purchased directly through Sports Time (and probably dealers). The autographs are identical to pack pulled autographs aside from the Sports Time seals.
  • Susie Owens Collectors Club cards A set of two March cards 37 (error) and 104, autographed by the subject, Playmate Susie Owens and distributed by Sports Time as a membership premium when joining the Sports Time Collectors Club in its first two years. The cards were supplied slabbed and sealed, and numbered. Edition size is 5000 sets.
  • Monique Noel Collectors Club cards A set of May cards 106 and 107, autographed by the subject, Playmate Monique Noel and distributed by Sports Time as a membership premium when joining the Sports Time Collectors Club in its last year. The cards may not have been issued but were advertised in the Collectors Club Newsletter in the last year of Sports Times involvement with Playboy cards. Edition size is unknown.
  • Charlotte Kemp Collectors Club card An October 83 card signed, slabbed, numbered, and sealed. Autographed by the subject, Playmate Charlotte Kemp and distributed by Paradigm as a membership premium when joining the Paradigm Collectors Club. The edition size is limited to 500.
  • Debbie Boostrom Collectors Club card An August #83 pictorial card, with yellow numbering, therefore probably printed on September card sheets signed, slabbed, numbered, and sealed. Autographed by the subject, Playmate Debbie Boostrom and distributed by Sports Time or Paradigm as a membership premium when joining Collectors Club. The edition size is limited to 600. The Monique Noel cards were advertised, this card was probably the one released.
  • Lisa Matthews Unautographed April autograph card This card was prepared for Lisa Matthews to sign, but for unknown reasons Matthews was dropped from the group of signers and replaced. These cards were in Sports Time stock and were bought by Blue Waves Trading who distributes them. Number of cards existing is unknown, cards are stamped but not signed or numbered. NOTE: Playmates who do not return the entire group of autographed cards issued to them may have similar cards for sale, at least two other examples of this type of card are known, there probably are others.
  • Carrie Wescott Redemption Card Carrie Wescott did not have cards signed at the time the September set was scheduled for release, and a redemption card was prepared for distribution with the September edition in case the autograph cards were not ready for coallation. Wescott did submit cards in time for inclusion in the September set, and these cards were bought by Blue Waves Trading with other Sports Times stock. The card has a double red X at the spot where the numbering would appear. Blue Waves Trading estimates the number of cards existing at 125.
  • Anne Marie Goddard Chromium One card Common as a single unsigned card, but also as a limited edition of 40 signed cards, numbered slabbed and sealed. (Thanks to Jon Bryant.)
  • Elke Jeinsen Autographed Card This is a promo card from the Chromium 1 set sold through the Collectors Club originally, which was signed by Anne Marie Goddard the 40th Anniversary Playmate the card features the cover for the 40th Anniversary issue. The card was supplied slabbed and sealed and is not numbered. Edition size is not known. This same card was later offered in Sports Time Collectors Club newsletter Volume 3 Number 3 signed by Elke Jeinsen, supplied un-numbered slabbed and sealed. Edition size is not known.
  • Donna Edmundson Autographed Refractor Card This card is card number 187 from Chromium 2, refractor number 7 from the set. It was signed by Donna Edmundson, the cover subject and Playmate of the Year for 1986. The card was signed in gold ink, issued slabbed and sealed but not numbered. Edition size is not known
  • Pam Anderson 24K Gold Signature and 24K Gold Metal card Two cards were issued, available individually or as a set. The 24K Gold Signature card was limited to 1992 cards and was slabbed, sealed and numbered--the signature on the card is a facsimile done in Gold ink. The other card is a gold alloy coating "embossed on a stainless steel base" The image is difficult to see and the card does not photograph well, the card was also limited to 1992 pieces, and was issued slabbed, sealed and numbered. These cards were first advertised in the Sports Time Collectors Club newsletter Vol 2 N6, but were later distributed in other ways. Cards were also sold through Playboy Catalog. 200 matched 24 K gold signature cards and Metal cards sets were offered.

  • Julie Cialini Special Offer autographs Sports Time arranged a personal signing with 1995 Playmate of the Year Julie Cialini, where chase cards from the May set were signed along with copies of the magazine. Collectors Club members had their choice of which card was signed, and personalization. The cards were issued unnumbered and the edition size is unknown.
  • Collectors Club Jumbo cards Started as dealers premiums in the top of May cases, autographed versions were soon marketed as a Collectors Club exclusive originally, then later they were released in varying edition sizes, and sold through dealers, Diamond Distributing, and directly by Sports Time. They are 3.5" x 5" large format cards the same size as case toppers, all are autographed. They were not supplied slabbed or sealed, usually they were sleeved if bought directly from Sports Time. All were blow ups of standard size cards from monthly sets. Only the collectors club autograph cards are listed here, see individual edition listings for other jumbo card releases.
  • Red Foil Parallel Cards Stellar has recently released variant cards using red foil instead of gold foil. These cards are made available to certain dealers and collectors in direct sale offers. They are limited in edition but not rare.
